Grain Magazine Cover
Overview
Grain Magazine is a concept I created for a magazine centered around the indie film subculture. The project was all about designing a magazine layout using Adobe InDesign, with a focus on making a cover that really captured the vibe of the topic we picked. We were encouraged to dive into niche or lesser-known subcultures and come up with a name and look that felt true to that world.
I named mine Grain because indie films often have that gritty, textured, almost grainy feel—both visually and emotionally. For the cover and back images, I used my own photography, choosing shots with motion blur to represent the passing of time or the look of a film reel in motion. It helped give the whole thing that lo-fi, cinematic energy I was going for.
